Effectiveness of facial exercises for facial rejuvenation

Introduction

We all spend incalculable hours in the exercise center sweating it out for a solid build. In any case, by the day's end, it's our facial appearances that make our early introductions, not our toned thighs or six pack abs. The muscles of face are usually neglected and left to wither away. It is this deterioration in the tone and strength of the facial muscles that encourages the formation of wrinkles, sunken eyes, hollow cheeks, eye bags and a flabby neck.

Because of lack of toned muscle skin losses it support and start sagging giving aged look. It is assume that this deterioration in looks is just a natural aging process but it is not correct. Just as with the muscles of the body, if you exercise the muscles in your face, you can stay looking fresher and younger for longer. The Muscles of the Face

There are sixteen major groups of muscles covering the entire face that influence how the face looks. Muscles cover almost the entire face and head and therefore have a huge influence on your unique appearance.
 
 

Facial exercises

The following exercises, if performed correctly and regularly, will tone and strengthen these major facial muscles, restoring their tone and strength. Facial muscle should be exercised isometrically, tensing the muscles against counter pressure from hands for few seconds followed by relaxing. It’s known as isometric facial gymnastics because it is based on the principle of exercising a particular contraction and repeats it unlimitedly. That’s how the muscle burns fat, increasing the elasticity.

Do facial exercises reduce or create wrinkles?

 
  1. Try this simple facial workout morning and night to keep your facial muscles strong and supple, maintain a healthy blood supply and aid waste removal as well as stimulate acupressure points - eight of the 12 major energy meridians have points on the face.

  2. Loosening & warming up – slowly rotate your shoulders forward and then backwards 3 times; raise your shoulders to your ears and drop them quickly 3 times; slowly rotate your head – forward, round to the left, back and to the right Slowly mouth the vowels A, E, I, O, U in a very pronounced manner but without making a sound 3 times

  3. Inhale slowly and, as you exhale, open your mouth wide, stick your tongue out and down, open your eyes wide, maintain this pose for as long as you can (at least 10 seconds). Draw your tongue back slowly and relax your face; repeat twice more.

  4. Place your index fingers on the inside of eyebrows, gently pull apart stretching the skin and hold for 10 seconds 3 times.

 7.  Place your thumbs under the middle of your chin, push chin down and hold for 3 seconds: continue around under the jawline to the ears and back again.

 8.  Slap under jawline with the backs of your hands for 20 seconds

 9.  Use your fingers to tap all over your face and then pat your face with the palms of your hands.

 10.  Put the heels of your hands into your eye sockets and hold for a few seconds while you enjoy the darkness; then slowly glide your hands out to the sides. Repeat 3 times.
